Patna offers a decent experience of multiplexes and movies. Multiplex culture, though in a nascent stage, is evolving fastly. The city also has many cinema hall where one can enjoy the latest Bollywood, Bhojpuri and Hollywood flicks. One multiplex, called P & M was recently opened in 2011 with at least a dozen in pipeline, scheduled to open in next two years.
P & M Mall : This first dedicated mall was opened
in 2011. It is situated in the Patliputra colony in
Kurji area. The first look is awesome and
comparable with mall of any metros. Many
brands, including international ones have
opened shops here. Big Bazaar is quite big and
has shop on one side of the mall, covering three
floors. Cinepolis offers good theater experience.
One floor is dedicated for food joints.The mall,
in overall offers a decent experience. The mall
is very crowded during weekends. During
weekdays, school and college students flocks here.
How to reach : Easily reachable by autos or private
cab.Two way from Boring Road and Kurji more.
Vasundhara Metro Mall : This mall is situated in East Boring Canal Road, near Rajapul. It is one of the recently opened mall in the City. It has good shops and restaurants including KFC. It also houses the Pantaloons store. It has also amble parking space in otherwise congested Boring Canal Road. One can enjoy the marketing with ease.
Central Mall : The recently opened Central Mall is situated in Frazer Road, not far away from Dak Bunglow Chowk. It is similar to any other Central mall in various metros, however it does not have any food court or movie theaters as of now. It has four functional floor besides underground parking lot.
Mona Multiplex : Situated near to Gandhi Maidan, the earlier existing Mona Cinema hall was renovated to pave the way for multiplex. The multiplex offers a good movie experience with all the amenities. It is a good hangout during the weekends.
Regent Cinema : Situated beside Mona multiplex, Regent Cinema is almost a century old (85 years in 2013) and famous cinema hall with the modern facilities. Here besides Hindi, movies in English and Bhojpuri are also shown. Students from the nearby colleges forms a big chunk of the movie viewer.The theater has been renamed as Regent Fun during the last quarter of 2013. Now, with some modifications, it offers better sitting arrangements, better sound and other facilities. It has also launched a special 'Service-on-Seat' facility for the people. It has three segment for sitting arrangements- Silver, Gold and Platinum with ticket prices varying from rupee 80 to 180. Tickets can also be booked through internet from the cinema's website.
Ashok Cinema : Situated in Buddha Marg, near to Patna Junction and GPO, Ashok cinema has the reputation of seeing the movie with family without any hassles.
The city also has many other cinema hall where mostly Bhojpuri films are shown.
